Participating Artists:

Beth T. Kennedy explores the inner mysteries of woman and goddess with many of her works. The concept of ritual plays an important role in her creations. www.bethtkennedy.com

Scott Murkin delights in fabric play with intricate cuts and the ability to create movement and tension in his pieces. www.scottmurkin.com

Judy Coates Perez draws on her background in graphic arts as well as her childhood memories to create wonderful and visually stunning work in a variety of media. http://judyperez.blogspot.com/

Susan Lewis-Storey transcends the ordinary to create a new view that envelops mind and soul with her work. www.susanstorey.com

Kathy York brings more than a touch of whimsy to her work, with fish doing everything in the world, including synchronized swimming! But in the whimsy lies hidden truth and strength of being.  www.aquamoonartquilts.blogspot.com

A Welcome From the Curator:

Hello, my name is Marcia Kaylakie, and I have been professionally appraising quilts, and collecting since 1988.  More information about me, and the art of collecting, is on my website at www.texasquiltappraiser.com

Quilts have been making ground in the world of fine art.  Both the Austin Museum of Art and the Bob Bullock Museum have shown quilt exhibits this season.

All of the artists draw on mixed media in order to create their extraordinary pieces of art.

Each has national recognition and accolades.  The quilt below, which will be at Quattro Gallery, just won First Place at the Pacific International Quilt Festival, which had 1000 participants.
